I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at St. Louis University.
My areas of specialization are metaphysics and philosophy of religion.
My current research in metaphysics focuses on the nature of causal powers, properties, causation, laws of nature, and modality. I also have research interests in the metaphysics of mind, truthmaker theory, and presentism.
I am editor of Res Philosophica, formerly The Modern Schoolman.
I organize two reading groups. The first, St. Louis Area Metaphysics (SLAM), I organize with John Greco, John Heil, and Eleonore Stump. It meets every other Friday at 2pm at St. Louis University. The second, St. Louis Philosophy of Religion (SLPR) meets every other Friday opposite SLAM. (Reading group websites are coming soon!)
I organize, with Meghan Sullivan and Timothy Pawl, the Midwest Annual Workshop in Metaphysics (MAWM).
I'm also an occasional contributor to Matters of Substance, a group blog about metaphysics.
